Senator Abdul'Aziz Abubakar Yari
Senator Abdul'Aziz Abubakar Yari is the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election — responsible for turning national support for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket into structure on the ground, ward by ward.
Born on 28 September 1968 in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State, he was educated at Talata Mafara Township Primary School and Government Teachers' College Bakura, studied at Sokoto Polytechnic, and took a graduate diploma in public administration at Kebbi Polytechnic.
He was elected Governor of Zamfara State in April 2011 and served two full terms, from 29 May 2011 to 29 May 2019, chairing the Nigeria Governors' Forum — the body through which all 36 governors negotiate with the federal government — during that period.
He returned to elective office as Senator for Zamfara West on 13 June 2023. When President Tinubu constituted the 108-member Presidential Campaign Council in August 2026, Yari was named Director-General — and the YFT platform launched days later as the council's digital mobilisation arm.

What running the ground game means.
A campaign director-general is judged on one thing: whether the structure reaches the polling unit. This is what that brief looks like in practice.
108
A council covering six zones
The PCC is a 108-member structure with the President as Chairman and the Vice President as Vice Chairman, zonal directors in all six geopolitical zones, and Senator Adams Oshiomhole as Deputy DG for Mobilisation.
8,809
Mobilisation to ward level
Coordination is organised down to Nigeria's 8,809 registration wards — the level at which turnout is actually won or lost.
37
Every state, no exceptions
Structure across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with the same message, the same figures and the same membership standard everywhere.
A digital arm, not a paper register
The YFT app was commissioned so membership could be issued, verified and counted from a phone — replacing the paper registers and fragmented group chats campaigns have always relied on.
“Every ward, every polling unit, every voter — we are mobilising the grassroots to secure a second term for Mr. President and consolidate the gains of Renewed Hope.”
