How the map is structured

Four levels between you and the national result.

A presidential result is not one number. It is 176,595 polling-unit results, added upward through three collation tiers. Knowing where you sit in that chain is the difference between a spectator and a participant.

01

37

State

36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Every voter belongs to exactly one, and it is printed on your PVC.

02

774

Local government

The administrative tier above the ward, and the level at which ward results are collated onto Form EC8C.

03

8,809

Registration area (ward)

INEC's name for a ward. Polling-unit results are first added together here, onto Form EC8B.

Polling unit

Where you actually vote. Accreditation, voting and the first count all happen here, in the open.

Once you have found it

Three things to settle before January.

Check the unit against your PVCThe polling unit printed on your card is the only one where you may vote. If it no longer matches where you live, apply for a transfer during the CVR window — not on election day.
Work out how you will get thereMovement restrictions usually apply on election day. Know the route on foot, and know how long the walk takes.
Read the process end to endAccreditation, ballot, count, collation. The voters who know the sequence are the ones who notice when it is not followed.

This dataset is the same one shipped inside the YFT app, so what an organiser sees on a laptop and what a supporter sees on a phone are the same 176,595 records.
